MMWR 2014;63(Early Release):1-5

In July 2014, CDC assisted the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of
Liberia in investigating a cluster of five Ebola cases among U.S. and Liberian
health care workers who became ill while working at an Ebola treatment
unit, an adjacent general hospital, or both. This report summarizes their
findings. No common source of exposure or chain of transmission was
identified. However, multiple opportunities were identified for possible
transmission of Ebola virus to health care workers, and none of those
opportunities were found to be a previously unrecognized mode of transmission.
