Impact, prioritization, and relationships. HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell outlined her management philosophy earlier this week, which is built on these three principles. During a special event at the George Washington University on Monday, Secretary Burwell told students and faculty how these principles will guide our Department's work on all initiatives, including the Affordable Care Act.
"The Affordable Care Act is not about making a point. It’s about making progress. It’s about leadership and management: defining our goals, putting the right teams in place, setting the right priorities, and building relationships with anyone who “wants in” – consumers, issuers, providers, elected officials, faith leaders, civic organizations."
