Sept. 16 Edition of What's New on Banner

                       What's New on

In Today's Edition

Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of National Health IT Week (#NHITWeek)! Yesterday's Consumer Summit was standing room only as some new and emerging patient voices took the stage. Emily Kramer Golinkoff (@Emilykg1) told her story of how she uses health IT to fight Cystic Fibrosis. We also heard from Alexis Barries, a young patient in foster care who has become the Youth Ambassador for HealthShack, which allows homeless or underserved youth to store and share their important electronic health documents. Gilbert Salinas, an Institute for Healthcare Improvement Fellow with multiple chronic conditions, explained how he used Health IT to reorganize his healthcare team when he moved from California to Massachusetts. Finally, Nawando Eze, a pediatrician, spoke about her experience as a consumer sharing data she collected about her premature newborn with the team of pediatricians, and how that helped her manage her daughter's care in partnership with the providers.

If you missed it, we will have the livestream of the event archived very soon! More than 1,000 participated in person or online and many, many more followed via Twitter (#NHITWeek and #bluebutton).
