MAKE A DIFFERENCE The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is now accepting applications through February 7, 2014. As a public health associate, you are a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) employee assigned to work alongside state, tribal, local, and territorial public health professionals. The work you perform will help advance your career while having a significant impact on the community you serve. Upon completion of a two-year appointment, you will be qualified to compete for entry-level career positions at CDC and equivalent positions in health departments and nongovernmental organizations. BECOME AN ASSOCIATEThrough PHAP, recent graduates with a bachelor's or master's degree who want to begin a career in public health can gain broad experience in the day-to-day operation of public health programs. To enhance on-the-job training, PHAP provides formal instruction in key public health competency areas, and associates participate in seminars, workshops, web-based training, and conferences that enhance their public health program skills.
