Today, ONC also released a new Data Brief reporting results from the 2012 ONC Consumer Survey on Privacy and Security. The Data Brief highlights the critical role of health care providers in ensuring that reasonable privacy and security protections are in place for electronic health records (EHRs) and other health IT. Findings from the survey indicate that patients' lack of trust in providers’ protections for EHRs negatively impacts both patient-provider communication and patient support of health IT.
And remember, when it comes to inspiring trust and confidence in health IT, we are all in it together.
