Rethinking the War on Drugs: A SymposiumRethinking the War on Drugs: A Symposium is a two-day symposium that will take place February 20–21, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois, at the Northwestern University School of Law’s Thorn Auditorium. The symposium is for lawyers and judges and will qualify for continuing legal education credit in certain jurisdictions. The symposium will address
  • Federal and state criminal laws for possession, use, and sale of drugs
  • Law enforcement, prosecutorial discretion, and sentencing for same
  • Addiction programs
  • Prison populations
  • Social fabric of communities in which drug use is high
  • Drug economics
  • European Union approaches to the problem
  • Foreign policy directed at drug sources
The Seventh Circuit Bar Association Foundation, Northwestern University School of Law, and the Harvard Club of Chicago will sponsor the event. Find more information and register here.
