An embedded checklist in the Anesthesia Information Management System improves pre-anaesthetic induction setup: a randomised controlled trial in a simulation setting.
When implemented successfully, checklists can improve patient safety. In this randomized controlled trial, researchers provided anesthesiology residents in the intervention arm with a checklist to assist with evaluating preanesthetic induction. Blinded observers determined that residents in the intervention arm performed better in preanesthetic setup compared to the control group.
