Reporting on the complexity of medication administration during surgery, this news article reviews strategies to reduce risks of surgical adverse drug events. Specific tactics discussed include proactive problem identification, medication reconciliation, high-alert medication process vigilance, verbal orderreduction, and information technology optimization.
