Headlines: National Survey Shows Lower Rate of Illicit Drug Use Among Adolescents

According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health report, the rate of current (past month) illicit drug use was lower among adolescents ages 12 to 17 in 2013 (8.8 percent) than in 2012 (9.5 percent) and 2002 (11.6 percent).
The Helpline, 800–985–5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746, provides immediate counseling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to people who need crisis counseling after experiencing a natural or human-caused disaster or tragedy.
