The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) released its 2013 annual report describing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in Texas healthcare facilities. |
The report provides data reported for the following HAIs: central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) and surgical site infections (SSIs) related to various surgical procedures. The report indicates Texas general hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers are showing improvement when compared to national data for CLABSIs and SSIs.
