Free April 25 Listening Session Before Health Datapalooza Will Explore Data’s Potential To Improve Health Care



Register now for a free Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)-sponsored listening session on April 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Washington Hilton about how decision-makers can use data to improve health care at state and local levels. The event will be held the day before the 2018 Health Datapalooza, which will occur April 26-27 at the same location. The listening session, “AHRQ Data Competencies to Support Decision Makers:  What Do You Need To Make Decisions on the State and Local Levels?,” will feature Gopal Khanna, M.B.A., Director of AHRQ;  Mona Siddiqui, M.D., M.P.H., Chief Data Officer, Department of Health and Human Services; and Anand Parekh, M.D., Chief Medical Advisor at the Bipartisan Policy Center. Discussions will address questions such as how data can help solve the opioid crisis and what data are needed to understand variations in health insurance coverage and affordability. At Health Datapalooza on April 26, Ed Lomotan, M.D., AHRQ’s Chief of Clinical Informatics, will highlight AHRQ’s CDS Connect project during the panel presentation, “Smart Data to Support Clinical Decision Making.” Paid registration is required to attend Datapalooza.
