ED-PQI Beta Testers Sought: Invitation to Test New ED Prevention Quality Indicator Software

ED-PQI Beta Testers Sought

ED-PQI Beta Testers Sought

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), working in conjunction with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), announces the development of the AHRQ Emergency Department Prevention Quality Indicators (ED-PQI). The indicators measure community health and access to care as reflected by ED visits and revisits for specific conditions.
AHRQ is seeking beta testers for the draft ED-PQI SAS software and documentation. The software includes two modules divided into general health and behavioral health. The testing period will run through March 1, 2014 for the behavioral health ED-PQI and May 5, 2014 for the general health ED-PQI.
Individuals interested in testing the software will receive a copy of the beta version ED-PQI software and are asked to provide feedback on their experience. Use of the ED-PQI software requires administrative or claims data that include ED information such as diagnosis codes (ICD-9-CM), E codes, and discharge status.
Beta testers must have access to their own data source for application of the software and must also have access to SAS statistical software. AHRQ will not request any sharing of data derived from the testing process. The software is only available in the SAS format at this time. User support is available during the testing period.
To obtain a copy of the software, or if you have questions, please send an email with your contact information to:QIbetatest@telligen.org
