Use of Electronic Health Data for eMeasurement and Quality Improvement Webinar
Join ONC for a roundtable discussion about innovative ways that eMeasurement and quality improvement data is being exchanged. National thought leaders will share their experiences and insights and we will provide a summary of research on the current state and future opportunities to promote better health and care through improved communication and transparency.
We want to hear your ideas on:
  • how registries, data aggregators, and technology solutions interact with systems at the point of care
  • how you may be approaching data standardization and quality improvement
  • your efforts using eMeasurement and quality improvement models
Date & Time: Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 9:00am to 1:00pm ET

Patient Matching Algorithm Challenge
Last week at Health Datapalooza, ONC announced the upcoming Patient Matching Algorithm Challenge.  Patient matching, the techniques used to match your data held by multiple health care providers, is a key element to achieving interoperability, yet little is known about the ability of the patient matching algorithm used to link patient records.  The latest ONC blog post, Demystifying Patient Matching Algorithms, should help you learn a little more about the challenge and patient matching.
If you are interested in learning even more about the challenge, you should sign up for one of three informational webinars we will be hosting in May before the launch in June. For more information, visit the Patient Matching Algorithm Challenge Website.
Certification Update: Identifiable Surveillance
The Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) now reports all “identifiable surveillance” of the Certified Health IT Products. Under the Enhanced Oversight and Accountability final rule, all identifiable surveillance results, those results where no non-conformities are determined, must be publically available on the CHPL on a quarterly basis. The goal of this reporting is to help you access surveillance results. Results where non-conformities are determined will still be updated weekly as required. View the surveillance results either on a products details page, where surveillance has occurred, or through a downloadable file located on the CHPL [CSV]
Proposed Interoperability Standards Measurement Framework Open for Public Comment
ONC is now accepting public comments on the Proposed Interoperability Standards Measurement Framework. We are looking for feedback on a proposed industry-wide measurement framework for assessing the implementation and use of health care interoperability standards and implementation specifications. Currently, the capabilities to measure and report on the use of standards vary significantly across the health IT ecosystem. This framework aims to help health IT developers, health information exchange organizations, and health care providers move towards a set of uniform measures to assess interoperability progress. Learn more by reading the latest ONC blog post Wanted: Feedback on Ways to Measure the Implementation and Use of Interoperability Standards.
Public comments on the Proposed Interoperability Standards Measurement Framework will be accepted until 5pm ET on Monday, July 31, 2017. Please note that comments and recommendations submitted as part of this process will be made public by ONC.
Direct Exchange Workshop
ONC will host a Direct Exchange Workshop focusing on the adoption and use of the Direct specification to improve health IT interoperability. This one-day, in-person event  will highlight a variety of efforts and resources from across the stakeholder community that uses Direct, including DirectTrust, NATE, federal agencies, and more. Attendees will focus on optimizing patient and provider experiences using Direct, emerging testing tools for developers, a variety of industry updates, and highlighting innovative uses of Direct.
Date & Time: Friday, June 9, 2017 at 8:00am -5:30pm ET
Location: Partnership for Public Service Conference Center, 1100 New York Avenue NW, Suite 200 East (2nd floor), Washington, DC, 20005

Community Health Peer Learning Program: Learning Guide
As part of ONC's Community Health Peer Learning Program (CHP), Essential Access Health has released Collecting Quality Data for Performance Management: A Learning Guide. This example-filled learning guide supports population health performance management for organizations using electronic health data. Read the Collecting Quality Data for Performance and Management Guide’s Executive Summary for a snapshot.
