Accelerating Health Information Exchange

Dear Colleague, 

HHS is releasing a new strategy today for accelerating health information exchange in support of delivery and payment reform: http://www.healthit.gov/HIEAcceleration. The strategy and principles were informed by the thoughtful input we received in response to the ONC-CMS Request for Information on how HHS can advance interoperability and exchange.  

We are taking a comprehensive approach to accelerating HIE as a part of our delivery and payment reform efforts moving forward. We look forward to working with you as we implement this strategy.    

This morning we held a joint webinar with CMS to discuss what we’re doing to enable HIE across the entire health care system. Slides are available at http://www.healthit.gov/newsroom/webinars.
