Bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell and the new National Coordinator for Health IT, Dr. Karen DeSalvo, will be featured as keynote speakers at HCI-DC 2014: Igniting an Interoperable Health Care System on Feb. 6, 2014 in Washington, D.C. Please join us to hear their thoughts on how interoperability can strengthen our nation’s healthcare system.
HCI-DC 2014 is co-hosted by the Gary and Mary West Health Institute and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and will bring together leading government agencies with industry experts, hospital leaders and patient advocates to drive medical interoperability.
Gladwell is the author of five New York Times bestsellers — The Tipping Point, Blink,Outliers, What the Dog Saw, and now, his latest, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants. The New Yorker staff writer has been named one of the 100 most influential people by TIME magazine and one of the Foreign Policy’s Top Global Thinkers.
Formerly the health commissioner for the City of New Orleans, DeSalvo is now the new National Coordinator for Health IT and was recently named one of Governing Magazine's Public Officials of the Year for 2013.
