A blog promoting the release of a new fact sheet and webpage on cultural and linguistic competency in disaster preparedness and crisis response has just been released by SAMHSA in consultation with the Office of Minority Health and utilizing the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care (CLAS Standards). These resources detail ways in which public health officials can better meet the needs of diverse populations and improve the quality of services and health outcomes during and after a disaster.

The Emory University Interfaith Health Program, in partnership with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invite you to join a webinar on how outreach through networks of faith-based and community organizations can overcome barriers associated with culture, poverty, mistrust (historical and legal), and geographic isolation.
