This 5-Part Program Helped Us Maintain the Safest Environment for Our At-Risk Patients
Today, on CDC’s Safe Healthcare Blog, John Letson, VP of plant operations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), presents part one of a two-part series about the need to reduce Legionnaires’ disease. He highlights the successes MSK has had using a five-part program.
Legionnaires’ disease in the U.S. increased nearly 300% from 2000 through 2014. Testing for Legionella and having a Legionella water management program can help protect patients. The release of ASHRAE 188 and now the CDC’s toolkit, “Developing a Water Management Program” will also help healthcare institutions develop their own site-specific plans.
