May is Healthy Vision Month
Taking care of your eyes may benefit overall health. People with vision problems are more likely to have diabetes, poor hearing, heart problems, high blood pressure, lower back pain and strokes to name a few. Some eye conditions can cause vision loss and even blindness. For more information, go to cdc.gov/visionhealth/
Medicare Part B covers the “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit that includes a simple vision test. Additionally, Medicare Part B covers some preventive and diagnostic eye exams for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma (for those considered high risk), and macular degeneration.
