Student Network Mentorship Program
The Student Network, part of the Network for Public Health Law, is accepting applications for the 2014–2015 Student Network Mentorship Program. The Mentorship Program will pair experienced public health law professionals with law and public health students across the country. Students will gain valuable insights beyond classroom education, learn more about public health law and tap into networks for new professionals. They will also receive personal advice about job searching, resumes, and law schools. Mentors will be able to share their passion for public health law, guide an emerging professional, and contribute to the growth of the public health law field. The deadline for consideration is August 11, 2014.

Accountable Care Resources
The Public Health Law Program (PHLP) has published three accountable care resources: Accountable Care: Basic Principles and Related Law, describing accountable care frameworks and the legal provisions that support them, an Accountable Care Presentation, and a Research Anthology for Accountable Care. These resources can help practitioners understand how accountable care might impact public health and engage with accountable care entities in their jurisdictions.

Health System Transformation Webinars
PHLP and the American Health Lawyers Association are co-hosting a series of webinar roundtable discussions that will provide lawyers, in-house counsel, and academic professionals an overview of health system transformation. The series will discuss PHLP’s research on law and policy related to health system transformation, accountable care organizations, and hospital presumptive eligibility for Medicaid. PHLP has reserved 200 free registration spaces. Please register as soon as possible to ensure free registration. The next webinar, Legal Mechanisms Supporting Accountable Care Principles—What Do They Mean for Your Practice?, will take place Monday, August 11, 2014, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm (EDT).

Webinar Legal Strategies to Promote Breastfeeding
The Network for Public Health Law is hosting a free webinar, Advancing Infant Health — Addressing Disparities and Identifying Legal Strategies to Promote Breastfeeding, on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (EDT).
