The human dimension: when being human gets in the way of medication safety.

Institute for Safe Medication Practices. April 30, 2015; 1:30–3:00 PM (Eastern).

Human factors engineering, while an established part of the patient safety discourse, still needs to be explored and applied in daily work to reduce its impact on the safety of care delivery. In this webinar, Judy Smetzer will educate participants about human factors such as cognitive biases and system conditions that contribute to failure and cover system design strategies that can reduce risks.
