Label design affects medication safety in an operating room crisis: a controlled simulation study.

Efforts toward standardization, such as with wristband use and drug labeling, remain an important mechanism to address safety issues. Redesigned medication labels that incorporated recommendations forsafe medication labeling improved anesthesia trainees' ability to select the correct medication during simulated crisis situations.
