Journal Publication
A new AHRQ-funded study finds that older adults who had spine imaging within 6 weeks of their initial primary care visit did not have better outcomes 1 year later compared to those who did not have early imaging. Also, patients who had early imaging had substantially higher health care use and cost than those who did not undergo this early imaging. Findings from this study are available in the March 17, 2015 issue of JAMA. To access the journal abstract, visit: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ pubmed/25781443.
