The overall quality of health care and patient safety are improving, but which States are showing the most improvement? AHRQ’s State Snapshots, an interactive online resource, answers that question with easy-to-read charts on the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in each state and the District of Columbia. State Snapshotsdata can be analyzed by (1) diseases and conditions, (2) priority populations, (3) insurance status, (4) access to care, (5) type of care, (6) setting of care, and (7) National Quality Strategy Priorities. AHRQ’s State Snapshots data are drawn from the 2014 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report, which comprises the most complete source of data on the use and cost of health care and health insurance coverage in the Nation. Trend data for most measures span from 2000–2002 to 2010–2012. To learn more about AHRQ’s State Snapshots, go to http://nhqrnet.ahrq.gov/
