Using best practices to reduce surgical site infections is the topic of an Aug. 16 patient safety webinar sponsored by the Partnership for Patients initiative, a public-private collaboration launched by HHS. Frank Opelka, MD, FACS, who chairs the Surgical Quality Alliance at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, will lead the session. The Partnership for Patients is a public-private collaboration that aims to decrease the incidence of health care-acquired conditions and reduce the rate of hospital readmissions by 2013.
