Federal Health Architecture: FHIR Testing with Touchstone and FHIM Viewer Learning Series
The Federal Health Architecture (FHA) will host a webinar on the Touchstone Project open access solution for health information exchange. The second presentation will review the Federal Health Information Model (FHIM) View which is a free, online service where users can search online or explore an intuitive ‘mind map’ to quickly target and collect specific health elements from thousands within the portal.

Usability is defined as the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which users achieve specified goals in particular environments. Nurse informaticists are on the frontlines helping improve the usability of health IT systems in their facilities and practices. ONC Chief Nursing Officer Rebecca Freeman looks at the work of three nurse informaticists meeting the challenges to make their electronic systems more usable in the latest Buzz Blog Post: Making Health IT “Usable” on the Frontlines.

CMS: New Lookup Tool to Help Clinicians Determine their MIPS Participation Status
Unsure of your participation status in MIPS?  Clinicians can now the CMS Quality Payment Program website to determine their status and if they should participate in 2017 and where to find resources. To learn more, review the MIPS Participation Fact Sheet.
AHRQ: Improving Visual Presentations of Health Information Webinar
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) will be hosting a webinar on how to improve the visual presentation of health data for patients, doctors, nurses and other health professionals. Topics will include how to effectively present electronic health record (EHR) clinical notes to clinicians and how clinicians can use navigators to document information within EHRs. Eligible professionals may earn 1.5 hours of free continuing education credits.
