New CHIPRA-Supported Pediatric Quality Measures Available: Imaging Overuse and Care Coordination

Two new measures have been submitted to AHRQ by the AHRQ-Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA)-supported Centers of Excellence in Pediatric Quality Measurement. As with all such measures, they are available to the public for non-commercial use. The measures are:
  • Overuse of imaging: Policy for “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA) dosing of radiation specific to the imaging of children. (Developed by the Q-METRIC Center of Excellence at the University of Michigan).
  • Family Experience with Coordination of Care Survey (FECC) (Developed by the COE4CCN Center of Excellence at Seattle Children’s Research Institute).
A listing of all Pediatric Quality Measurement Program (PQMP) measures and topics of measures in development by the CHIPRA AHRQ-CMS Centers of Excellence is available on the AHRQ CHIPRA Web page. Copies of the measures are available from AHRQ; send an email to CHIPRAQualityMeasures@ahrq.hhs.gov/.
