Healthy Schools, Healthy People: It’s a SNAP!
Did you know that nearly 22 million school days are lost annually due to the common cold?
Visit www.itsasnap.org to learn how you can help prevent school absenteeism by creating a handwashing campaign for your school community.
CDC works with the American Cleaning Institute on the Healthy Schools, Healthy People -- It’s a SNAP program to improve hand hygiene habits to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases and reduce related absenteeism.
Each year, up to three schools are chosen for national recognition for outstanding student efforts to promote hand hygiene and infection control. View photos and videos of the previous award recipients and learn about the phenomenal projects that earned them national recognition.
The awards are open to all public/private K-12 schools in states, territories, and tribes within the U.S. The deadline is December 1, 2012, so send an email to SNAP@cleaninginstitute.org for a free toolkit and get started today!
