CAHPS® Health Plan Survey Comparative Data are now available based on the voluntary submission of data to the CAHPS Database. The 2016 CAHPS Health Plan Survey Database includes 315,120 patient experience survey responses submitted for Medicaid, Medicare, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) populations. “How Well Doctors Communicate” was the highest scoring composite measure across Medicaid, Medicare and CHIP populations and “Personal Doctor” was the highest scoring rating measure. There has been a steady improvement in scores for most composites and ratings across each population for the years available for reporting. Users can view the results in the following ways:
- Online Reporting System - Top box scores, frequency distributions, bar charts, and percentiles can be viewed. Custom downloadable reports with the Report Builder feature can also be created.
- 2016 Health Plan Chartbook - Summary-level results for 2016 and trends over time are presented.
- Research Data Files - De-identified respondent-level data files for research purposes are available upon request.
